An Evening with Julian Baggini

We are proud to present, in collaboration with South West London Humanists, an exciting evening with Julian Baggini, who is a Patron of the BHA. You can read more about him on the BHA website here.

Renowned philosopher and best-selling author Julian Baggini discusses one of the key questions raised in his book The Ego Trick: ‘What does it mean to be you?’  In his book he concludes that there is no essence or ‘kernel’ of the self – our physical brains alone produce our thoughts and feelings.  But is this right?  How do we explain emotions, or moments of transcendence, such as when responding to the arts?

There will be time for questions and answers.

Please join us for what promises to be a fascinating evening exploring interesting and profound ideas.
