How do I join the AGM?
1. Reply to this invitation – email back saying you accept at selhuginfo@gmail.com
2. A day or so before the AGM, you will receive an email with a link to the meeting. It will be open from 7.15 – please try to join us before 7.30 as it sometimes takes a few minutes to sort camera, microphone and view.
What vacancies are there this year?
We are seeking nominations for the posts of Chair and Treasurer. Hester has completed her three years as Chair, and Libby, former Treasurer, moved to Stockholm.
Please nominate yourself if you would like to stand for either post. If you are not a member, you need to join now, see instructions below. You need to be a member to vote, too.
If you would like to be active in the group in a less formal way, please talk to Hester or Tony via selhuginfo@gmail.com – there are lots of campaigns, meetings, socials and fund-raising you could lead on or support.
How do I nominate myself to stand for a post?
Write a brief statement about yourself and why you want to stand for the post, and send it to Tony Brewer, Secretary, at selhuginfo@gmail.com no later than 7 days before the AGM.
Don’t worry if you have not used Zoom before
You can either click on the meeting link and follow the prompt to download Zoom software, or download it in advance here. It is free. Select the first download: “Zoom Client for Meetings”, and once it has downloaded, have a practice with camera on so you can see how you and your room will look. Avoid having the light or window behind you.
We will send out more advice on using Zoom with the link.
How to become a SELHuG Member
Anyone who supports the aims of SELHuG (view the Constitution here) can become a member by paying £10 annually, £6 unwaged. Please make a bank transfer to the SELHuG account: 089299, 65748721 and put your name in the reference field, so we know it’s you!
I am already a member. How can I renew my membership?
You can either do it now by making a bank transfer to the SELHuG account: 089299, 65748721 and putting your name in the reference field, or remembering to give David cash when we next meet at the Library.
Your membership helps the group organise events and support two important charities
Membership subscriptions, along with second-hand book sales, allow us to keep monthly meeting contributions low (£2) and to support two charities: Action for Refugees in Lewisham (AFRIL) and the Uganda Humanist Schools Trust.
Please consider becoming a member if you are not already.
