On Sunday 20th May a few of us met at Coulsdon South station for our bi-monthly walk. The weather was wonderful, warm and sunny, and we set out in high spirits. The walk was a 9 mile trek, taking us through woodland and heathland, with plenty of good views. A few miles in we stopped off in a pub for a quick pint and, later on, rested on a fallen tree trunk to eat some lunch. Later we passed a beautiful church in Chaldon that was mentioned in the Doomsday Book. Throughout the day we alternated between lively conversation and companionable quiet. A wonderful day.
