What is humanism

‘Humanism’ today is the idea that you can live a good life without god, that this is the only life we have, and that we need to use reason and science to explain the natural world rather than religion or superstition. Wonder, art, love and friendship are part of our human experience and culture. Humanists believe we should work together to improve the quality of life for all, make it more equitable, and protect the planet for future generations.

That’s the summary – but there is so much more. If you are interested, please read the other sections under this tab! And do check out the Stephen Fry videos for a lovely introduction to some of the main ideas.
