When: Thursday 7th April, 7.30pm
Where: this will be an ONLINE ONLY meeting. Zoom link HERE
Some of you may remember our online Christmas coffee morning a couple of years ago, to enjoy some festive time together and raise money for one of our chosen charities, AFRIL (Action for Refugees in Lewisham).
This was very successful, both for the great enjoyment of everyone who joined in and for a big boost to AFRIL’s fundraising efforts, and we thought it would be pleasant to do something similar for April but – this time – celebrating Spring. Despite the ongoing pandemic and huge problems in the world (both immediate and long lasting) we hope that we might try to reflect on and celebrate the changing seasons and find some consolation and/or challenge in the thought of connecting with the natural world.
This will be an online only event as it gives more focus to the readers, who won’t have to split their attention between people in a room and a camera. So – put the date in your diary and plan what spring-like drink you might like to be sipping as you listen…
We usually have lots of volunteers offering to read. Please let us know if you’d like to be one by emailing us at selhuginfo@gmail.com. Anything is suitable – a short story; an article; poetry; any reflections on the season and perhaps the changes it is undergoing due to the climate breakdown; a song or some music also very welcome!
If you want to get a sense of what the evening might be like, you can check out our previous festive line up here.
