Barbara Smoker 95th Birthday Celebration

Barbara Smoker is 95 on Saturday 2nd June. Bromley Humanist Group and South East London Humanist Group have jointly organised a birthday party to celebrate her life and achievements on this important birthday.  Please join us!

Barbara Smoker was President of the National Secular Society for 25 years; currently the President Of The Bromley Humanist Group and of the South East London Humanist Group; holder of the International Humanist and Ethical Union award for distinguished services and author of the well-known bestseller Humanism: An Introduction. 

After the birthday celebration we can go to watch a film by Adam Louis- Jacob about Wild Cat strip cartoons. This film will start at 4pm and is part of Radical Book Fair at Goldsmiths’ College. 

The film discusses Wild Cat strip cartoons books which is the work of Donald Roum, an eminent humanist (recently profiled in the Freethinker) and well-known anarchist. The cartoons are regularly published in this country and in the US. The film will no doubt be greatly entertaining , informative and thought-provoking.
