Don Roum on My fifteen minutes of fame.
Don will describe his involvement in events of 1963 and 1964 when he was arrested and charged with carrying an offensive weapon at a demonstration but acquitted because the detective sergeant leading the police squad made an error in planting evidence. Twenty prisoners were released on appeal and several books about the case have been published, the most recent in 2013.
Don is ninety years old and has been an anarchist since the age of sixteen. He is a cartoonist who has been published in the UK and the US. He was with Freedom Press from 1953 to 2015. He also served as a trustee of South Place (now Conway Hall) Ethical Society for a number of years.
