Ethical discussion: The refugee crisis
Why not open the country’s doors to anyone who wants to come in?
With millions of Syrians on the move, not to mention people fleeing Afghanistan, Eritrea and other unsafe countries, many regions in the world are in the midst of refugee crises. What should Europe’s role and the UK’s role be? Can refugees be separated out from economic migrants? Is it reasonable to focus on tackling the causes of the crisis rather than helping the displaced?
If you were PM, what would you do?
Inspired by Jeremy Rodell’s presentation on the refugee crisis and ethical discussion at the South West London humanists in August, SELHuG is going to examine some of the facts and then explore the issues at this month’s meeting. Please come along and join us.
