When: Sunday 6th December at 11.30am
Where: online via Zoom, use this link: https://zoom.us/j/94095920462
LATEST: BBC Radio 4 newsreader Susan Rae, the one with the silvery Scottish accent, is joining fellow humanist readers at this event!
Join us for an hour of festive readings from Dickens to Carol Ann Duffy. You bring the coffee and we’ll bring the readings. Gather round the laptop with your favourite warming brew, mince pie or shortbread biscuit and hear yuletide tales and poems, old and new. We might even muster the odd song.
This is also a fundraiser for SELHuG’s chosen charity Action for Refugees in Lewisham (AFRIL) who are supporting many families through this winter when Covid has made life even more precarious. If you’re feeling full of sympathy and Christmas spirit, please donate to their BIG GIVE Christmas Challenge between 1st and 8th December. AFRIL hopes to raise £3,000 with its regular supporter, the Childhood Trust, doubling whatever it raises.
The link for donations will become live at 12 noon on Tuesday 1st December and stay open for one week.
You can donate at the BigGive website here or you can go via AFRIL’s facebook page here.
