Tony Akkermans, a past Chairman of the Welsh Marches Humanists, has been in touch with us to let us know about his new book ‘Happily Godless’ – Humanism for a better World, which has just been published.
He says “the book is partly autobiographical, narrating my path to humanism in Holland, but mostly it is arguing the case for humanism in preference to religion. Topics discussed include human rights, particularly women’s rights; overpopulation; science and religion; animal welfare; faith schools; multiculturalism; nature v. nurture; morality; assisted dying; some aspects of the paranormal and much more.”
