Everyday Utopia – Radical Experiments in the Good Life
Join us to watch and discuss a pre-recording presentation by Anthropologist Kristen Ghodsee.
The traditional ‘nuclear’ family home can be a challenging place, but the problem is bigger than that: as a way of organising daily life, it places unfair and unnecessary burdens on women (and men too), it entrenches inequalities, entraps us financially, hinders certain kinds of child development and is an obstacle we face to a fairer society.
Anthropologist Kristen Ghodsee provides a vision of more contented and connected societies, as well as a practical guide to what we all can do to live the good life every day. Does this have relevance to us as Humanists?
There is also a book which you might be interested to read following our viewing and discussion; you can find out more about it here
