Review: Bloomsbury Walk

On Saturday 22nd April, committee member Tony Brewer led a group of us on a guided walk around the Bloomsbury area.

We started in Red Lion Square Gardens, near the statue of Bertrand Russell and in sight of Conway Hall, where Tony reminded us about Humanism to give us some context for the locations and historical figures he would be pointing out during the walk.

We had lovely weather and the walk was gentle, with lots of stops en route to point out things of interest. Sometimes this was a building or plaque where someone lived or worked, sometimes the historical context of an area or landmark. It was fascinating and there was new information for even those of us who know the area well already.

Thanks to Tony for organising. You can read a copy of his notes below. Most of the route is described in the Humanist Bloomsbury Tour on the Go Jauntly app.
