Review: Nunhead Cemetery Open Day

Nunhead was a touch of summer even though it was early September. The Dulwich Allotments stall, next door to ours, benefited from the later date with a bumper harvest of vegetables, fruit, flowers and plants for sale, and there was still rhubarb!

Humanist celebrants joined SELHuG members to run our stand: we sell second hand books at almost give-away prices and do give away leaflets about humanism and humanist weddings, funerals and naming ceremonies. People come to look at the books and often mention a humanist ceremony they have been to, usually a funeral, and how much they liked it, which leads on to other things

Our booksale maestro David Lewis managed to raise nearly £100 despite smaller crowds, which is a real help towards the higher rent costs we will need to meet for our monthly meetings this year. Thank you David!

And thank you to everyone who donated books or helped out on the stall. As ever it was a great opportunity to catch up with friends old and new.
