April social: Bloomsbury walk

When: Saturday 22 April, 11am
Meeting spot: by the bust of Bertrand Russell (see photo below!) at the east end of Red Lion Square Gardens (map)
Walk info: about 3.5 kilometres; approximately 90 minutes

For our April social event we visit leafy Bloomsbury and view the locations of some of the exotic characters involved with the ethical, atheist, secularist and humanist movements. These include Bertrand Russell, Fenner Brockway,  Dante Gabriel Rossetti, William Morris, George Jacob Holyoake, EM Forster, John Maynard Keynes and Virginia Woolf.

We shall follow most of the route described in the Humanist Bloomsbury Tour on the Go Jauntly app.

There are plenty of pubs and cafés nearby for sustenance afterwards. If you can get there a bit early there are very interesting information boards at each of the four entrances to the gardens.
