We had a good turnout for our September demo, on a sunny afternoon that saw an encouraging level of interest in our campaign from passers-by, as well as from BBC staff leaving work. Some people clearly haven’t clocked that the Thought for the Day slot is limited to religious speakers – maybe that has to do with the fact that several who talked to us said they reach for the ‘off’ button when the time comes (usually at 7.50am)…
As part of our campaign, we have now written to the Chair of the BBC Board, Sir David Clementi, because the responses we have had from BBC executives have been uniformly unhelpful – would it be churlish to suggest disingenuous, too?
