Celebrating life: exploring humanist ceremonies and what humanist celebrants do

Saying goodbye when a loved one has died, welcoming a child to the world or making wedding vows – all humanist ceremonies celebrate life and assert the importance of each one of us. Whether happy or sad, they are saying “Let’s make the most of this one life that we have, let’s live and love and help others do the same. Let’s cherish each other.”

What are humanist ceremonies like and what makes them special? How do you become a celebrant with Humanists UK and what do celebrants actually do?

Ginny Collins from Humanists UK, together with local celebrants, will be exploring all this at our October discussion, and encouraging questions and thoughts from attendees.
