Review: Mythmas

SELHuG celebrated its second Mythmas in the New Cross community library, a welcoming venue for any occasion. With tables laden with food and drink, there was a chance to mingle before starting proceedings with the annual Book Auction. In his debut as auctioneer, book-sale supremo David Lewis managed to shift most of the stock, albeit a large amount to his own family who could hardly object when the gavel came down in their favour.

Phil Walder returned with his guitar for a second year to accompany the annual Atheist Carol Competition, which included a tribute to SELHuG members at the BBC demonstrations, penned by Barbara Chandler. Libby and Audrey were particularly enthusiastic participants in the singalong to old Christmas favourites which ensued.

Our President, Barbara Smoker announced that her autobiography, ‘My Godforsaken Life: Memoir of a Heretic” is now available from Thornwick Press, and we collected food for our local refugee charity, Action for Refugees in Lewisham (AFRIL).
