On 4 December a small group of us gathered to contribute to the annual ‘Write for Rights’ campaign run by Amnesty International. The campaign encourages people to write messages of support to people around the world who have suffered injustice and to write appeal letters to figures in authority. Millions of letters and messages are sent each year and the campaign has proved successful in many cases.
We had a quiet corner of the welcoming Richard I pub in Greenwich and spent a couple of hours writing and talking about various cases. Some took information booklets home to send emails later on.
